Preston Innovates
Preston is a powerhouse of innovation.
Innovation is in our roots. Notably, we are known for being the first English town outside of London to use gas lighting; where Richard Arkwright invented the water frame; and the birthplace of the temperance movement.
Looking forward, the city is on the precipice of opportunity.
With established strengths in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and health, Preston has burgeoning opportunities in cyber, data, and digital with the £5bn National Cyber Force (NCF) facility being built on our doorstep.
Having recently been ranked one of the top UK cities for SMEs, we know we have an impressive range of businesses and organisations working across the city, doing interesting things across digital, tech, and cyber.
Preston Innovates: Powered by Preston Partnership
Preston Partnership is collaborating with agencies, organisations, and businesses across the city to create the ecosystem Preston needs to make the most of the opportunities for this sector. By hosting events, sharing success stories, engaging online, and raising the profile of this sector, they are looking to further establish Preston position as a hub of innovation.
To enable this, Preston City has appointed an Innovation Ambassador. Acting as a single point of contact, the Innovation Ambassador is engaging with the digital, tech, and innovation community across the city to identify opportunities for collaboration, good news stories, and further development.
